John Petkovic is a transformational finance and business executive with 20+ years of experience in global aviation finance. Chief Executive Officer of Macquarie Rotorcraft since 2015, John guided the business through one of the worst downturns in industry history and led the integration of Waypoint Leasing following its acquisition out of bankruptcy in 2019. Since then, he has taken Macquarie Rotorcraft to new heights and positioned it for its next stage of growth including EVTOLs.
Before taking the lead of Macquarie Rotorcraft, John served a key role in establishing Macquarie AirFinance and serving as CFO. He entered the private transportation leasing and finance space as Head of Corporate Strategy for AWAS (a Morgan Stanley-owned aircraft lessor) and supported the sale of the business in 2006.
John previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He holds a degree in Commerce from the University of New South Wales.
Greg Allen joined Macquarie Rotorcraft Leasing at its inception July 2013. Greg has an extensive Helicopter background. Formally as the President & CEO of Uniflight, an Authorized Airbus, Bell and Leonardo Customer Service Facility. The Company earned its reputation over three decades of prompt and professional support of government and commercial helicopter operators.
Mr. Allen has more than 30 years’ experience in the helicopter operations industry. Prior to Uniflight, Greg owned and operated Helijet Holdings, Inc. The Company provided electronic news gathering helicopters to Dallas-Fort Worth television and radio stations. Greg holds a Commercial Rotorcraft and Fixed Wing pilot license. He has logged more than 4000 Helicopter flying hours.
Greg’s community work includes Director of the Jeff Pino Foundation: “Inspire, Educate & Achieve”, building the next generation of Aviation professionals. He is a graduate of Franklin Pierce University.
Trey has been leading sales and deal origination efforts at Macquarie Rotorcraft since 2014. He joined Macquarie from Textron, Inc. where he held several large organizational leadership roles, at both Bell Flight and Cessna Aircraft. Trey joined Textron from the US Army where he served as an officer in the Infantry.
Trey is a graduate of the US Military Academy and holds an MBA from Texas Christian University. Trey is an FAA rated private helicopter pilot and a graduate of numerous helicopter safety and maintenance programs.
Con has twenty years experience in the aviation sector, filling a wide variety of technical, project management and strategic management roles. Prior to joining Macquarie, Con was the Chief Technical Officer (Fixed Wing Aircraft) with the Irish Air Corps and he previously held a key role delivering the Irish Air Corps helicopter fleet renewal program – successfully introducing a new fleet of EC135 and AW139 multi-mission helicopters. Con has also worked for Rose Aviation Ltd, the United Nations, the European Union and the Swedish Air Force in various aviation leadership roles in Europe and Africa. Con holds a primary degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Queen’s University and has various post graduate qualifications including an MBA and MSc from Smurfit Business School, University College Dublin and an MA from the National University of Ireland. Con speaks conversational French and Swedish
Prior to joining Macquarie, Ken was Vice President Finance, and subsequently Senior Vice President Finance, with Waypoint Leasing. Ken joined Waypoint Leasing at its inception in 2013 from Aercap, one of the world's largest aircraft leasing companies, where he was appointed Senior Manager Group Finance following the merger between Genesis Lease Limited and AerCap in 2010. At Genesis Ken started as Finance Manager and progressed to Business Planning Manager. Formerly he was Head of Financial Reporting at Challenger Financial Services Limited, a listed Australian Financial Services company. Ken is a Fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and holds a BBS from University of Limerick.
Sarah has been General Counsel of Macquarie Rotorcraft since its inception.
Before joining Macquarie Rotorcraft, Sarah served as Corporate Counsel of Willis Lease Finance Corporation and earlier as Associate General Counsel for Building Materials Holding Corporation. Sarah also practiced law at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher where she advised clients on secured finance, business restructuring and bankruptcy matters.
Sarah graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Law and also studied Finance at Santa Clara University.
Simon has over 15 years of experience in the helicopter industry including OEM, Operator and Lessor. Prior to joining Macquarie, Simon was Vice President, Sales and Relationship Management, Europe with Waypoint Leasing.
Simon was the Group Business Development Manager for Babcock Mission Critical Services, where he was responsible for business development initiatives. Prior to this, Simon worked with ERA Group Inc. and was based in New York. Simon holds a Bachelor with Honours in Business Administration from UNCW and Euromed Marseille.
Dimmie has been in the helicopter industry for more than 40 years and has logged 8000 accident-free flying hours on helicopters. His flying career spans a wide range of helicopter applications, from Offshore to Firefighting, HEMS to instruction. Prior to joining Macquarie, he was Commercial Director at Starlite Aviation and Commercial Director Africa at CHC Helicopters.
He holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch and an MBA, International Marketing, from the University of South Africa. Dimmie has 32 years’ experience in contract management in most of the coastal countries in Africa.
Prior to joining Macquarie, Philip was Director and subsequently Vice President of APAC Sales and Marketing, with Waypoint Leasing. Philip joined Waypoint Leasing in 2014 bringing 12 years of international business development, upstream oil and gas and asset trading experience.
Prior to Waypoint, Philip was the APAC Area Manager for Seacor Marine in Singapore. While in Singapore he led business development and growth strategy for the region. Previously, Philip worked for Seacor in Mexico, Europe the US and in Africa.
Philip graduated from Connecticut College and holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management as a Sloan Fellow. He is fluent in French and conversational in Spanish.
Fabian has close to a decade of experience in the helicopter industry, split between time at an Operator and a Lessor. Prior to joining Macquarie, Fabian was the Commercial & Business Development Manager at Waypoint Leasing, working alongside the sales team on transactions, with a special focus on the Asia Pacific market.
Previously Fabian worked at Babcock Mission Critical Services in a Business Development role, supporting bid teams globally while launching several new business lines, such as UAVs and Humanitarian & Disaster Relief operations. Fabian also has commercial experience on a number of buy and sell-side M&A transactions.
Fabian is fluent in English, German and Dutch, conversational in Spanish and French, and is currently learning Portuguese.
