Macquarie has received the Silver Award in work with Pride’s PRIDE Index for the first time in Japan.
The PRIDE Index, is an indicator to evaluate engagement and efforts of organisations in creating an inclusive workplace for LGBTQ employees. The index assesses organisations on various measures including policy, representation, inspiration, development, and engagement.
Takuji Watanabe, Macquarie’s Japan Country Head, said: “As we celebrate 20 years in Japan, we are delighted to be recognised with the Silver Award in the PRIDE Index for our ongoing commitment to building an inclusive and diverse workplace. Our purpose is empowering people to innovate and invest for a better future, and one way we do this is by embracing diversity of thought from all our people.”
The organiser of the PRIDE Index, work with Pride, is a non-profit organisation, which aims to support Japanese organisations and corporates to create a supportive environment for LGBTQ staff.
Macquarie promotes a diverse and inclusive environment for our LGBTQ people and clients, where everyone is encouraged to bring their whole self to work and be an ally. We do this through inclusive policies, ongoing education, awareness and community engagement.
Macquarie has achieved a Top 10 ranking in the Australian Workplace Equality Index four times, qualifying us as a Platinum Employer for LGBTQ+ inclusion, we are #33 in the UK Stonewall Workplace Equality Index and maintain a 100/100 ranking on the US Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index.
