Press Release
London, 17 February 2021
Macquarie Capital (Macquarie) has announced the appointment of Ramzi Moubarak as managing director, strengthening the firm’s investing capabilities in infrastructure projects and companies in Europe.
Based in London, Mr Moubarak will report to Mark Bradshaw, head of Infrastructure Principal and Projects (IPP), for Macquarie Capital in Europe and the Americas. The IPP team specialises in the development and construction of projects across transportation, social and digital infrastructure. The team also offers flexible, partnership capital to infrastructure companies to help fund capital expenditure, business expansion and acquisitions.
Mr Moubarak joins Macquarie Capital from European private equity firm Montagu, where he was a Partner and co-led the firm’s infrastructure business. Prior to joining Montagu in 2018, Mr Moubarak spent eight years at Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, leading investments in a broad range of sectors across Europe, including energy, transport, and digital infrastructure.
Mark Bradshaw said: “The world has shifted dramatically over the past year; in that time, we have seen a lot of different opportunities emerge to partner with and invest in high growth infrastructure businesses by assisting management and providing capital. Ramzi’s appointment reflects this growing opportunity and we are very pleased to have him on board to help expand our market leading investment capabilities.”
The appointment marks the return of Mr Moubarak to Macquarie Group, having begun his professional career with Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) over a decade ago.
