Our people

Due to the pandemic and family priorities, Manvi Jain had to leave Macquarie in 2020. Three years on, she made a successful return through our Gurugram Returner Program, which equipped her with the necessary skills and confidence to re-enter the workforce.
Returning to Macquarie as part of the Returner Program feels like coming home. It's not only about reconnecting with a place where my career thrived but also rejoining a community that supports growth, innovation and empowerment. What initially inspired me to join Macquarie, and what draws me back now, is the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that has a real impact. This gives me a sense of purpose.
From day one, I was impressed by Macquarie’s vibrant, inclusive culture, where diversity fuels creativity and innovation, making me feel valued and reigniting my career passion.
Since I first joined Macquarie, I’ve felt supported in my career. An example of this is the structured onboarding process, tailored specifically for returners like me. This program was designed not only to reintegrate me into the workforce but also to ensure I had a solid foundation to thrive in my new role. Through a series of workshops, training sessions, and mentorship opportunities, I was quickly brought up to speed on the latest industry trends, regulatory changes, and internal processes that are critical to my role in Group Treasury.
Working alongside and exchanging ideas with my peers and leaders has been instrumental to my development, and I know that they genuinely care about helping me grow in my career.
Every day is a dynamic mix of meeting with colleagues, problem-solving and strategic planning - including internal strategy sessions or discussions with stakeholders. I love working with such a diverse group of people, as everyone brings a fresh perspective. Having missed time connecting with colleagues, I’m glad to be back.
Another highlight of my day involves engaging in deep-dive analytical work. I enjoy tackling complex problems and contributing to strategic decisions, whether it's assessing operational risk or analysing the potential impacts of regulatory changes. The support and empowerment I receive from my team inspire me to push boundaries and think creatively, leveraging the skills I've developed over the years.
My days consist of fulfilling opportunities that promote growth and learning. The support, culture, and values at Macquarie have made my transition back not only seamless but also deeply fulfilling.
At Macquarie, support for employees extends beyond words. We have policies and practices in place that facilitate a smooth transition. For instance, flexible work arrangements have been a game-changer for me. The ability to work remotely or adjust my hours has empowered me to balance personal and professional commitments without sacrificing productivity or team engagement.
Additionally, I really appreciate the space and time my team has provided for me to re-adjust to the corporate environment. They have encouraged me to speak up and ask as many questions as necessary. This supportive culture, where curiosity is nurtured and valued, has been pivotal to my smooth reintegration.
Returning to work after a career break can be a journey filled with mixed emotions — excitement, apprehension, and everything in between. Based on my experience, I would recommend preparing yourself by engaging in activities such as taking online courses relevant to your field, attending workshops, or simply staying updated on industry trends. This preparation not only boosts your confidence but also helps make re-entering the workforce after a career break a seamless experience.
Also, don't underestimate the power of leveraging your network. Reconnecting with former colleagues, mentors, and industry professionals can offer invaluable support and open up new opportunities.
