Macquarie appoints Charles Yonts as Head of Asian ESG Research

Macquarie Group (“Macquarie”) today announced the appointment of Charles Yonts as Head of Asian ESG Research.

Mr. Yonts has over 15 years of experience in equity capital markets and corporate finance.

Prior to Macquarie, Mr Yonts was the head of ESG research at CLSA, building a platform to drive ESG integration. He also developed thematic research on topics including palm oil, forensic accounting, climate change and labour standards.

Mr Yonts has been covering greater China cleantech at CLSA as a stock analyst since 2005 and was awarded top earnings estimator for Asian Utilities from Starmine in both 2018 and 2019.

Mr. Yonts is based in Hong Kong and reports to Jake Lynch, Head of Research, Asia, who said: “We are pleased to have Yonts spearhead our Asian ESG products, his appointment will further enhance our capabilities and expertise to offer deep insights to clients with the growing demand for ESG research.”
