Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) today announced the appointment of Janaki Rao as Head of US Multisector Fixed Income. In this role, Janaki will have overall responsibility for the firm’s US multisector capabilities, including team and business management, and will lead portfolio management for all Macquarie Asset Management’s US multisector portfolios, including the firm’s US multisector mutual funds. Andrew Vonthethoff, Senior Portfolio Manager on the Global Fixed Income team, will join Janaki as a portfolio manager on the portfolios and funds.
Based in Philadelphia, Janaki brings more than 30 years of experience to the role, having spent the past 10 years in senior roles across portfolio management and research at AllianceBernstein, most recently as the Head of its US Multisector team.

In addition, Janaki will have portfolio management responsibilities for Delaware Strategic Income Fund with Vivek Bommi, Head of Leveraged Credit at Macquarie Asset Management.
In his new role, Janaki will leverage the breadth of Macquarie Asset Management’s more than 200-person global Credit business, which manages more than $US225 billion on behalf of clients globally, while also utilizing our team of sector specialists for credit, interest rates, securitised debt, emerging markets debt, and municipals.
