Daniel McCormack
Head of Thought Leadership
Daniel McCormack works globally across our infrastructure, agriculture, energy, and real estate sectors to produce insights on the performance and drivers of returns of these sectors. His analysis also focuses on real assets as an asset class and the global macroeconomic megatrends driving investor returns generally. He is responsible for producing the Pathways series of notes for Macquarie Asset Management (MAM). Since joining the firm in 2005 as an economist and equity market strategist, he has covered a broad range of economies and markets, including Australia, New Zealand, China and Asia, the US, and, most recently, the UK and European economies. He appears regularly in the media, including Bloomberg, CNBC, and the BBC, and is often quoted in print media. Before joining MAM, he worked at the Reserve Bank of Australia in international economics. He developed key research interests in globalisation and its effects, financial crises (their causes and effects), and monetary policy. He has a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from the University of Queensland, Australia, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Queensland University of Technology, Australia. Daniel is a member of the CFA Institute.
Aizhan Meldebek
Global Infrastructure Strategist
Aizhan Meldebek is a Manager in Macquarie Asset Management (MAM), based in London. She produces insights on the asset class performance of agriculture and infrastructure, including power, transport, energy and digital infrastructure. Aizhan works on analysing and monitoring key market trends in these sectors with a particular focus on the impact of changing economic cycles. Prior to joining Macquarie, Aizhan worked as a research analyst for private infrastructure markets at DWS (Deutsche Bank). Aizhan has a First Class Honours degree in BSc Economics and Statistics from the University of St Andrews, UK, and is a Chartered Alternative Investments Analyst (CAIA).
Dillon Anderiesz
Senior Vice President, Private Credit Product Specialist, Client Solutions Group
Dillon Anderiesz is responsible for developing new strategies for the firm’s private credit business. Since joining Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) in 2013, he has been involved in growing and establishing the firm’s private credit business, including the inflation-linked funds and global funds. He was responsible for the establishment of the private credit US business. In addition, he has worked on several transactions across infrastructure, agriculture, and other real assets. In his current role, he leads the development of renewable energy strategies. Prior to joining MAM, he worked as a civil engineer and consultant in the Worley Parsons Group. While there, he gained experience in managing the operations and construction of major infrastructure, including the major rail, water, electrical utilities, and transport. In his role, he was responsible for developing and optimizing operational models, assessing construction risks associated with infrastructure projects, and developing and assessing infrastructure project tender documents and contracts. He has a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Accounting and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of New South Wales, graduating with First Class Honours and the University Medal.
Peter Durante
Managing Director, Head of Technology and Innovation
Peter Durante is the head of technology and innovation within Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) Real Assets, where he coordinates the work of MAM Real Assets’ asset management and origination teams in identifying and applying emerging technologies that may impact the operational and environmental performance of existing and future portfolio assets. Prior to joining MAM in 2018, he spent more than 18 years in infrastructure, oil and gas, renewable energy, and transportation. He started his career at Shell where he worked across the downstream value chain including supply management, procurement, strategy, risk management, and commodities trading. He then served as a consultant to a range of industrial, financial, and governmental clients on renewables, transport electrification, and emissions trading policy. He then spent five years at Saudi Aramco’s renewable energy organization, where he led the Emerging Technologies and Market Intelligence division which supported the development and launch of Saudi Arabia’s renewable energy deployment through R&D, venture capital, and project development. He has an MBA from the University of Oxford, a Master of Science in Finance and Financial Law from SOAS University of London, a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Kent, and a bachelor’s degree in history from Arizona State University.
Eleanor Heathcote-Morris
Executive, MAM Agriculture and Natural Assets
Eleanor Heathcote-Morris is an executive at Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) Real Assets and has worked in its agriculture and natural assets business since 2021. She has a focus on investor relations and works across the platform’s three agricultural funds as well as on new business development. Prior to joining MAM, she worked as an agricultural investment analyst at Warakirri Asset Management, based in Melbourne. She received a Bachelor of Agriculture from The University of Melbourne.
Marcel Hofstetter
Global Real Estate Strategist
Marcel Hofstetter joined Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) in May 2019 as a global real estate strategist. He is a member of the Global Research and Strategy team, which produces real estate research and strategic initiatives across markets and sectors for external and internal clients. His focus is centered on the European core and core plus real estate initiatives. Prior to joining MAM, he worked for Renewable Energy Systems Ltd. (RES), where he was responsible for identifying and evaluating development sites for large scale battery storage solutions in Germany. He received a Master of Science in economic geography from RWTH Aachen University.
David Roberts
Senior Vice President, Global Real Estate Strategist
David Roberts joined Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) in 2017 as a global real estate strategist. He works in the Global Research and Strategy team, which produces real estate research and strategic initiatives across markets and sectors for external and internal clients. He joined MAM from UBS’s Global Real Estate team where he was the Head of Real Estate Research and Strategy for Asia Pacific from 2011 to 2016 and was responsible for formulating market views for use within the direct real estate and multi-managers businesses. Prior to that, he worked at Grosvenor from 2007 to 2011 as the UK Head of Research based in London and as an economist at the Australian Treasury from 2003-2006.

Thomas Studer
Senior Vice President, Technology and Innovation
Thomas Studer is the energy transition lead for the Technology and Innovation team within Macquarie Asset Management (MAM). He focuses on technologies in the energy and mobility sector essential to decarbonising the economy. He provides thought leadership in the domain and works closely with deal teams in assessing the outlook and potential of investments with exposure to the energy transition, as well as supporting asset managers on future readying assets. He has 15 years of experience in the energy transition. He joined MAM in 2018 from Saudi Aramco’s renewable energy department, where he contributed to the launch of the national Saudi renewable energy program and provided thought leadership in the Emerging Technologies and Market Intelligence division. In his earlier career, he entered the solar industry as a development engineer for flexible, thin-film solar cells, from where he moved on to managing the ramp-up and process integration of turnkey solar factories. He served three years as the chief engineer of a solar factory in Spain. He has a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
