Macquarie Capital appoints Michael Tarrant, Senior Managing Director, Head of Industrials Europe

Macquarie Capital today announced the appointment of Michael Tarrant as Senior Managing Director and Head of Industrials Europe within Macquarie Capital.

Mr Tarrant joins Macquarie Capital from Rothschild where he was a Partner and Global Head of Business Services, Logistics and Marine Transport.   With almost 30 years’ investment banking experience, Mr Tarrant has led numerous advisory assignments with an emphasis on the transport, logistics and business services sectors.    

Prior to joining Rothschild in 2001, Mr Tarrant was Global Head of Business Services and Transport at Merrill Lynch having previously been Co-Head of UK and European M&A for Credit Suisse.

Recent transactions in which Macquarie Capital’s Industrials advisory team have been involved include:

• Ramsay Healthcare/Groupe Proclif:  financial adviser to Ramsay Healthcare on the acquisition of, and arranging finance for, a majority shareholding in Groupe Proclif, a leading French hospitals operator.  This transaction marked the strategic entry of Ramsay Healthcare into the French market.
• Nordic Capital/SiC Processing:  financial adviser to Nordic Capital on its acquisition of SiC Processing, a leading global provider of recycling services to the solar wafer manufacturing industry.
• IK Investment Partners:  advised IK Investment Partners on the acquisition of a majority stake in GesundHeits GmbH Deutschland, the German market leader in homecare services
