Macquarie Group Chairman leave of absence

The Board of Macquarie Group Limited today announced that its Chairman, David Clarke, will be taking a period of six months leave of absence, commencing immediately and that the Lead Independent Director, Kevin McCann, will be assuming the role of Acting Chairman during this period.

Mr Clarke will be undergoing treatment for cancer during his leave of absence.
