Clarification regarding CEO remuneration

The Sydney Morning Herald on 4 May 2009 published an article in its CBD column which incorrectly stated that Macquarie Group's Chief Executive Officer, Mr Nicholas Moore, received total remuneration for full year 2008/09 of "north of $10 million".

This is incorrect. As stated in the Group's Remuneration Report lodged with the Australian Securities Exchange on 1 May 2009, Mr Moore's total remuneration for this period totalled $290,756.

The CBD column also stated that dividends earned on shares purchased by Mr Moore are part of total remuneration for 2008/09. This is also incorrect.
